Subject: Itinerary
Dear Mendel,
I wanted to let you know that I booked
our train tickets for the upcoming business trip. The price of the tickets was
higher than I expecteD. I don't know if the train is always so expensive or if
this is considered a peak time of year for
(77) travel.
In any case, Waterworks will cover the
cost for us.
Since the conference is free (78)
charge for all GBC members.
Waterworks has offered to put us up in a
5-star hotel. I booked us two single rooms at Champlain Manor. It has a spa, a
heated indoor pool, tennis courts, and three restaurants. We definitely won't
be (79) there.
Let me know if you have any questions
about these trip plans.
Yours,
Sigmund

Thank you for welcoming me to Ontel. My
first week working here has been wonderful.
You asked me to e-mail you about
the (80)
of my office. Overall, it is very nice and suits most of my needs.
However, I would like a few small changes. Could I get a different chair? The
current chair is really too small for me. I'd also like a conference table
for (81)
with clients.
My office also needs some technology
upgrades. The computer's Internet connection is slow and frequently freezes in
the afternoons. It is very frustrating. Also, I don't have the ability to
participate in video teleconferencing. Would it be possible for me to get this?
I am expected to participate in weekly conferences with our partners in other
countries.
I will need a visit from the IT
specialist. I should have antivirus software installed on my computer. Maybe my
current computer has it, but I (82) find it.
Thank you.

Milford Education to Launch the E-Lator
Milford Education, a leading publisher

New Pediatrics Unit for Glass Bay
Hospital
The Bay Area Regional Health Board
announced yesterday that the state government has ( 46 ) the plan to build a new pediatrics unit at
Glass Bay Hospital. The unit, which is budgeted at over $5 million, will be
able to accommodate over 120 patients, making it one of the largest
publicy-owned pediatrics wards on the west coast. Construction work will begin
on the unit in July, and it is expected to be completed by January next year.
The development is good news for residents in the Glass Bay region. At ( 47 ), locals have to travel to the major
hospitals in San Franssico to seek specialist care for their children. Now they
will have their own pediatrics ward with state-of-the-art facilities and
technology. The Director of Glass Bay Hospital, Michael Steer, was delighted
with the decision to go ahead ( 48 ) the construction of the unit: "We're
developing a truly world-class facility here for the people of Glass Bay."

TO : Company employees
FROM : Administration Department
Over the years, employees have been
increasingly ( 52 ) with our in-house cafeteria facility. The
selection of food is poor, and our cooking equipment is in disrepair. Also,
there is no longer enough space for everyone to eat simultaneously. To cope
with these growing problems, we have decided to undertake the renovation of the
cafeteria.Work will begin on the first day of the third quarter and will last
approximately two months.Unfortunately, the cafeteria must remain closed during
that time. We have devised a ( 53 ) system to offer employees the chance to eat
out at local restaurants without having to drive their own cars. Shuttle buses
will run between our office and the Plaza Central in town from 11:30 a.m. to

I'm writing to ask for your support on
an important matter. The Minneapolis City Government is proposing to develop a

Naturally, the resident's association is very strongly ( 82 ) . to this
suggestion. In fact, we are planning to raise an objection against the
government's plan at the next City Planning Committee meeting ( 83 ) is this project extremely expensive, but also
it is not supported by most people in the community. Our protest will be more
influential if it is accompanied by a strongly backed petition. Accordingly, we
aim to get the signature of every resident of Cleveland for our submission to

complex ( 84 ) signatures over the next couple of weeks.
Please sign the petition and help us stop the construction of the western

Giving Hotels the Grade
With the nightly rates of hotels going
up around the country, it is ( 91 )
important for travelers to know what they are getting before they pay
for it. To help them, there are companies that employ teams of inspectors to
give grades to over 100,000 hotels and motels every year.Trusty Travel Guides
is one such company. Its inspection team includes more than 100 experts,
trained to observe and rate everything a hotel has to offer, from ots carpets
to its valet service. The process begins with an ( 92 ) overnight visit. By not revealing
their identity, the inspectors are ensured the same experience as a regular
guest. Next, some weeks later, th inspectors
( 93 ) , introduce themselves, and meet with the hotel manager to tour
the facility and discuss their findings. The end result is a rating from a low
of 1 to a high of 5.Inspectors with Trusty Travel Guides and similar companies
make a living out of staying at hotels, but it is tough work. So next time you
travel, think about the experts who help you choose your home away from home.
